Join us this spring for one of our two Introduction to Story-based Strategy Trainings. In this interactive, hands-on 5-hour session, participants will learn and practice the fundamentals of Story-based Strategy (SBS). This training helps organizers, activists, community leaders, and grassroots communications experts practice creative storytelling and critical narrative analysis.
Participants of this training will:
Explore and unpack Story-based Strategy and narrative thinking.
Learn how to apply a Narrative Power Analysis.
Get access to simple and effective storytelling and framing methods.
Connect and build relationships with other change-makers.

Each year, the launch of our Introduction to SBS Training generates excitement among our community of organizers. As always, our goal is to meet our community’s needs. This training aims to create more spaces to build narrative power for liberation and justice alongside organizers, cultural workers, and members of social movements. Depending on interest and needs, both trainings may be conducted bilingually, in Spanish and English, with simultaneous interpretation available.
Accessibility
Due to access and community care, our Introduction to SBS Trainings are being held virtually. Automated captioning and Spanish-English simultaneous interpretation will be available in the main room. We will not be providing English/US American Sign Language this time. Will offer breaks during the training. Please help us improve our accessibility to these spaces - let us know what we can do better!
Tuition
In alignment with our commitment to make our gatherings accessible, we offer our Introduction to SBS Trainings on a sliding scale. The full tuition for this training is based on your organization's budget. This financial contribution will help us compensate our trainers and other expenses. We also offer limited scholarships (see more below!). Nobody will be turned away for lack of funds!
Tuition Options:
FREE - Solidarity rate (Scholarships)
$200 - Organizational Budget of $250,000 or below
$300 - Organizational Budget of $250,000 – $500,000
$400 - Organizational Budget of $500,000 or more
Note: If you are applying as an individual, please choose an amount on the sliding scale according to your financial capacity. Limited scholarships are available — contact us if you have specific questions about the participant fees, including individuals or organizations for which this may be a hardship.

Acompáñanos esta primavera a uno de nuestros dos talleres de Introducción a la Estrategia Basada en Historias (Story-based Strategy). Cada año el lanzamiento de nuestro taller, Introducción a Estrategia Basada en Historia, genera una gran expectativa entreentre nuestra comunidad de organizadores. Como siempre, es nuestra intención apoyar a las necesidades de nuestras comunidades. El taller busca crear más espacios para construir, junto a organizadores, trabajadores culturales y personas de movimientos sociales, el poder narrativo para la liberación y la justicia. Dependiendo del interés y las necesidades, ambas capacitaciones pueden llevarse a cabo de manera bilingüe, en español e inglés, y contar con interpretación simultánea.
Accesibilidad:
Para apoyar acceso y cuidado comunitario, nuestros talleres introductorios serán impartidos virtualmente. Esta vez no proporcionaremos lenguaje de señas estadounidense. Ofreceremos un par de descansos durante el entrenamiento. Ayúdanos a mejorar nuestra accesibilidad a estos espacios. ¡Háznos saber qué podemos hacer mejor!
Costos
En alineación con nuestro compromiso de hacer que nuestras reuniones sean accesibles, ofrecemos nuestras capacitaciones introductorias en escala de precios. El precio para esta capacitación se basa en el presupuesto de su organización. Esta aportación económica nos ayuda a compensar a nuestres entrenadores y otros gastos. También ofrecemos becas limitadas (¡vea más abajo!). Nadie será rechazade por falta de fondos.
